Short Bio

  • José Antenor Pomilio  was born in Jundiaí, Brazil, in 1960. He received the Bachelor's (1983), the Master's (1986) and the Doctoral (1991) degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Campinas, Brazil. From 1988 to 1991 he was head of the Power Electronics Group at the Brazilian Synchrotron Laboratory. Currently he is Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Campinas, where he teaches since 1984. In 1993 and 2015 he was visiting professor at the University of Padova, and in 2003 at the Third University of Rome. He was president of the Brazilian Power Electronics Association (SOBRAEP, 2001/2002) and member of the IEEE Power Electronics Society Administrative Committee (1999/2003). He currently is associated editor of the IEEE Trans. on Power Electronics.

Research

  • His main interests are power electronics, power quality, electric vehicles, smartgrids, switching-mode power supplies, power factor correction, electrical drives and active power filters.
